In LUMINOUS STREETS the audience is guided, experiencing multiple plays at unique venues throughout Los Angeles, inviting audiences to witness and consider what it means for women to challenge the patriarchal paradigm while interfacing in the world, speaking truth about oppression, and demanding justice
This SEPTEMBER 2025, LUMINOUS STREETS light up Highland Park with a bold new lineup of femme voices, venues, and unforgettable stories. This year’s featured writers include Jesse Bliss, Melissa Lugo, Tyree Marshall, Roger Q. Mason, and Ligiah Villalobos. Audiences experienced powerful new works in exquisite neighborhood spaces including Johnny's Bar, Café De Leche, Moryork, Be Nice Have Fun, and a headquarters at Pop-Hop Books.
As part of the journey, attendees will also had the chance to support these local businesses—whether by buying a small gift, exploring the spaces, or enjoying a round of drinks.

The 2019 Downtown LA production featured a powerful ensemble made up of celebrated talents including Real Women Have Curves writer Josefina Lopez, USA Ford Fellow Sigrid Gilmer, and internationally renown Pop Locker Popper Ricardo “Boogie Frantick” Rodriguez Jr. as well as Marlene Beltran, Jesse Bliss, Kat Evasco, Rachel Greenhoe, Raisa Donato, Jeanette Godoy, Juanita Chase de Lamont, Hilaria Larriva, Aisha Lomax and Marta Portillo. This ground-breaking theatrical work also included a musician.
The 2019 Downtown LA production venues included, The Last Bookstore, the historic King Eddy Saloon and a headquarters at Words Uncaged.
