The Roots and Wings Project is a socially transformative theatre company dedicated to providing stage and space for the voices of the unnamed, unknown, and misunderstood.

 

We specialize in new works created by women, in both site-specific and traditional locations, offering writing and theatre workshops, readings, and full productions that amplify their talents.

 

Our commitment extends beyond the stage: we lead summer writing and publishing programs for high school students, writing workshops for professional writers, and year-round writing workshops at the women’s prison in Chino, culminating in published anthologies that honor their voices.

 

Looking ahead, we have a powerful year planned, including the world premiere of a full-length play featuring unique artistic collaborations, visual elements, and original music, as well as our writing, theatre, and publishing workshops for high school–aged participants, along with continued year-round programming at the women’s prison.
